Post Lumber opened its doors in 1963 at its current location by owner, Nathan Post. Nathan’s son, John Post, purchased the business from his father in 1982 and the rest is history.
Over the years, new innovative products have been introduced, lending more to the “do it yourself” homeowners and business owners. What hasn’t changed is customer service at Post Lumber Co. Customers are met with friendly smiles and knowledgeable staff ready to guide them on their projects.
Born and raised in Cuero, John attended St. Michaels School, graduated from Cuero High School, and attended the University of Houston on a baseball scholarship. After graduation, John returned to Cuero and went to work with his father at Post Lumber Company. John then started his construction and home builder/remodeling business in 1982.
John has been active in his hometown, serving many years on the city council as well as serving as Mayor for seven years. John has also been heavily involved in local organizations, including a member of Lions Club, served on the Cuero Chamber of Commerce board, past member of Victoria Builders Association, Parade of Homes (his homes have been featured several times), Cuero Little League and Cuero Soccer Association. John is also a lifetime member of St. Michael’s Catholic school and church and serves as eucharist minister (extraordinary minister).
